Wishing all a fulfilling and prosperous new year! – And I'd like to thank everyone that has sent email commenting on my photographs. I feel like I've made many new friends around the world, literally, thanks to the internet and people like Rannie that bring us all together. I am glad to be a part of this photoblogging community and am inspired by all the wonderful perspectives out there.

Today, as I drove around the countryside looking for something interesting to photograph, I came upon an "abandoned" ice cream stand of a bygone era. Lately, anything "abandoned" seems to capture my interest, photographically speaking (see first abandoned series), so I knew this had potential.

I was able to capture what I believe will turn into a new series to be posted in the next few weeks. But for now, I am featuring this image, taken at the same location, of an old washing maching sitting in front of the ice cream stand waiting to be hauled away. Click on image for larger view.
