This is me, and today I am officially tossing my hat into the ring for the 2003 Photobloggies awards. From what I understand, it is encouraged to nominate ones self into this contest and since I am fairly new to the blogging community, I will take the initiative with the intention of introducing myself and my web site to fellow bloggers who haven't yet found "du jour".

"du jour" was born in the fall of 2002. I really didn't know what to expect but decided to give it a go anyway, not knowing how long it would continue or if anyone would even visit my site. As it turns out, I have had many visits (checked my web stats) and some friendly correspondence from other bloggers out there.

"du jour" is a creative outlet for me, not that I need yet another one, working as a full-time graphic designer. It is who I am and I don't see it as a choice, rather, a means to self fulfillment. And more importantly, "du jour" is an exercise for me to learn from and develop new ideas. Though there are times when I might rather be off doing something else, I have already seen the benefit of giving it my attention each day. I find myself inspired to and trying out ideas I may have overlooked otherwise. So, it is really a good thing for me to continue with this exercise, however it chooses to reveal itself in the future.
